In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Club Natació Banyoles (Swimming Club), I was asked to make a kind of anthem to use during the celebrations of the acts that would end up doing during that anniversary, in 2000.

I ended up doing a song more than a hymn. A song that praises self-improvement and effort, and as a nerve center of everything, the Lake of Banyoles. A song with a rather idyllic character of the fact to live near this natural wonder that is the Lake of Banyoles.

The theme was recorded with a luxurious musical template along with the Banyoles Theater Choir and the singer Alícia Calzada, and we release it in the same Club during the celebrations.

Some time later, the same Club Natació Banyoles used this to take their swimmers out in several competitions, so it served for other purposes than their origin.

 

Essays with the Theater Choir and Alícia Calzada

I made for them a vocal and an instrumental version of the theme, so that they used the one that suited them the most.

Later I changed the lyrics slightly and made allusion to the Club Natació Banyoles, and I renamed the theme by calling it: Banyoles, a clear homage to this city where I have lived so many years, and I am so happy.

que hi neixi el sol cada dia,
on reposen tots els somnis
dels que volen fer un món millor.
 
Si no saps on cau aquest llac,
mira cap al cel, hi ha un reflex
que t'indica el lloc exacte
on l'esforç es mulla amb l'aigua.
 
Un estany per posar-te a prova,
on s’emmiralla dins l’aigua
la imatge d’un club,
de gent que busquen i que troben
mil satisfaccions.
 
No es pot aturar aquest club,
sento el seu alè dins de l'aigua,
està fet de gent amb força
que pels somnis tot ho donen.

There is a gold pond waiting
that the sun is born every day,
where all dreams rest
of those who want to make a better world.
 
If you do not know where this lake falls,
look to the sky, there is a reflection
that tells you the exact place
where the effort gets wet with water.
 
A pond to test yourself,
where it is reflected in water
the image of a club,
of people who seek and find
thousand satisfactions.
 
 
You can't stop this club,
I feel his breath in the water,
it's made of people with strength
