In charge of the audiovisual production company La Guerrilla Comunicacional to accompany the documentary "Leo a la vida" on the life and work of the Cuban pedagogue Leonela Relys, a Cuban educator recently disappeared, whom we must thank the titanic effort and generosity without limits that guided her throughout her life to eradicate illiteracy in the most disadvantaged places on the planet.
She invented the revolutionary method to learn to read and write in a few weeks, "Yes I can", with which thousands of people have learned to read and write.
The task consisted of creating a symphonic-choral work around the struggle to literate different parts of the planet with this system.
The fictional story that relates the symphony places us in the parallel lives of two young people: Maria and Manuel, born under various circumstances and unrelated to their will, for which they will not get the same education. Maria will be able to access the learning, she was born near the city, Manuel no, she was born far from the city, and this, depending on which places on the planet, is decisive.
But Maria ends up being a school teacher, and will fight to invent a method that facilitates, and much, the eradication of illiteracy on her land. At the end, thanks to Josep, the first facilitator and Julia, Manuel's mother, both young people will meet and have a second chance in their lives.
But above all, they will have a hopeful future. A relationship born of the effort of many people to equalize the opportunities of all human beings.
So, a story with a happy but uncertain ending, a history of doubts, of struggle, of generosity. A human history.
An original and unique symphony in the world, generous and fiery, tender and human, made from the heart. A LITERACY SYMPHONY to raise awareness and understand. A symphony for listening and learning. To read and write. To live.
